• Take the initial concept sketches and design the mechanical functionality of the pod and refill bottles • Undertake comparative analysis of sourced components such as atomiser pumps to ensure they work with the mechanical properties (viscosity, surface tension, temperature etc) of the liquids intended to be used • Prototype all device specific parts in production materials with either 3d printing or CNC machining • Liaise with electronics designers and software team to produce manufacturable working solutions that integrate with these elements • Produce DFM CAD for prototype injection mould tooling • Liaise with prototype suppliers in the Far East for several EVT production runs of around 500 units each, distributed to pioneer testers in Europe, USA and Canada • Undertake DVT prior to full production • Attempt to drive down costs where possible, e.g. manufacturing our own glass bottles rather than source stock bottles
